My Top 8 Favorite Doodle/Poos

Doodle mixes (a Poodle mixed with another breed) can be seen all over my neighborhood in NYC. I didn’t know how many kinds there were until I started looking them up, but I have put a list of my top favorite Doodle/Poos.

8.Yorkipoo (Yorkie x miniature poodle)
7.Cavapoo (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x Poodle)
6.Cockapoo (Cockerspaniel x Poodle)
5.Maltipoo (Maltese x miniature poodle)
4.Schnoodle (Schnauzer x Poodle)
3.Bernadoodle (Bernese Mountain Dog x Poodle)
2.Labradoodle (Labrador & Poodle)
1.Golden Doodle (Golden Retriever x Standard Poodle)

The Golden doodle gets my vote for number 1 Doodle.   I might be biased on this because I have illustrated the Golden Doodle twice but this Doodle gets my top rating. They are lovers, leaners, kind spirited, and sweet natured. This  Golden Doodle portrait I painted called”Yankee Golden Doodle” pays homage to vintage patriotic posters. I love painting watercolors in this vintage look of old fashioned times when illustration was the only way to see a poster.
Tell me your favorite Doodle/Poo or send me their pictures!  I’d love to see them, Patriotic or not

PPF BLOG- 1.Pet Nose-011.Painting my Pet’s Nose:

It’s funny how one of the most difficult looking things to draw on a cat or Dog is their nose sometimes. I find if you get the nose drawn correctly the rest of the face will fall into place. With a few curly lines and a line in the middle you can accomplish this easily. With a shape like an anchor or a triangle upside down you can see the outline of the nose as one full shape. You can establish a big part of your pet’s personality with this one simple shape. It’s one of my favorite things to look at when I receive a new photo of a pet. From Bulldogs nose that are smushed in to Big noses like Labradors or German shepherds, to little petite kitty cats noses. Our pet noses are so full of personality, just like Whistler’s Schnauzer.
